Amendments to Higher Education Act

In July 2014 the Parliament amended the Higher Education Act. HAC will have two additional members delegated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the National Union of Students, respectively. Other amendments relate among others to the appointment of university professors, and the (financial) governance of state HEIs.

HAC ENQA Membership

The ENQA Board has not renewed the full membership of the HAC after its external evaluation in 2013. The HAC has received the status of "Full member under review" and has to undergo a renewed external evaluation by November 2015. The new review will focus on the two weaknesses established, and concern the HAC's independence and the reliability of its resources. The HAC awaits the needed amendment to the legislation before initiating a new external evaluation. Please read here the documents on the review.
